Formed in Jamestown NY in 1981, 10,000 Maniacs proved to be a pivotal force in forming the sound of the eighties and nineties. With one foot in folk and the other in rock and roll, 10,000 Maniacs found themselves at the forefront of the burgeoning college rock scene. Their jangley, shimmering sound became defined the college rock movement, and gave flight to their career.
10,000 Maniacs have released eight studio recordings, not counting the forthcoming Twice Told Tales, a collection of traditional folk songs from the British Isles. They have toured the world for the last thirty years including a USO tour and a defining set on MTV's Unplugged. This fall they make their first appearance at StageOne.
