Eric Andersen is one of America's finest lyric-poet songwriters. He stands with his contemporaries Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell as one of the few remaining pioneers of the 60s singer-songwriter movement continuing to do important work.
Andersen’s work, while savored by aficionados, has only occasionally broken through to more widespread popularity. He embodied the popular transition from acoustic American roots music and politically motivated topical song in the 60s to the mellower, more personally inspired singer-songwriter movement of the 70s.
